Why did you pick this product vs others?:This is our second purchase of this fan. It was easy to install and set up in the app. Like that it has a wonderful setting, but most of all the lack of any sound other than the air moving if it’s going fast. My only complaint about these is that the light covers are plastic. As others have said though, you don’t notice once it’s in the ceiling. Highly recommend getting the wall switch if you have anyone in your family born before the 90s 🙃. It’s not hard to operate but my early 80s husband likes the option over remembering what I named all of our devices. 😉

Love this purchase! But…
My Electrician installed this fan yesterday & he was really impressed. (I actually plan on purchasing 2 more for my other rooms that are due for an upgrade)The fan is crazy quiet & with so many speeds I will surely be spoiled in the hot Phoenix summers!The light could be a bit brighter but it is do-able.The only negative (hence 4 stars) is the remote should really have backlighting. Had to turn on the light switch to change the fan speed “in the middle of the night”Secondly, it has a very soft ambient light that stayed on all night…. even though I thought I had turned it completely off. Will try again tonight. Hopefully it’s “user error” Update: WAC Technical Support was Great! Stated that the grounding wire needed to be secured. Thats why the light was still dim although turned off. My Electrician is coming back this week. And, if for some reason that doesn’t do the trick, WAC will send a replacement @No Cost! 👏🏼For quality, weight (under 10lbs) speeds, price, etc. I highly recommend! 👍

The good:- looks great in person, solid mate black- Affordable price- 3 light and fan speed settings and the app allows you to dim the light- The App is a huge plusThe not so good:- It’s hard to install! A lot of cables come loose and the screws that it does bring say that can only be used in Canada so this took 2 trips to Home Depot.- The light cover is a thin plastic/foam doesn’t seem sturdy at all. (The rest of the fan is good and study)

I’ve been looking for a new kitchen fan that met my many requirements for several months. It had to be rated for a wet environment, energy efficient, reverse movement, a dimmable a led light, and be at an affordable price.After reading the reviews and finding it was rated as #1 Best Buy, it was easy to make the decision to purchase this new WAC fan.It is everything and more than I imagined. It so quiet I almost had look to make sure it was on.A remote control comes with the unit. An optional wall control is available for an additional fee, or use your Wi-Fi network at home.D M

Frustrating
I can’t believe that a fan could be such an issue in 2021. You would think that you just hook it up and you can go to the switch on the wall and turn the light on and off or the fan on or off… but it doesn’t work like that. You need to wire the fans light and fan together to one switch and then leave it the switch turned on so you can use the remote control.On top of that… just like another reviewer said, the light stays dimly lit at night. And yes, I turned the light all the way down with the remote and turned the power off on the remote as well. The only way to turn the light completely off is to turn the switch to the off position which then leaves the fan completely dead… you cannot use the remote to turn the fan on at that point.I thought buying the optional wall control unit would resolve the issue but that thing didn’t work at all. Nothing! Dead! I’m waiting for the third electrician to come by to see if he can figure this out. I’ve never been so frustrated in my entire life with something that should be straightforward and simple.I contacted support 4 times and they haven’t replied once.

Better than others, but still looking for a fan with bright light
Got this fan for my home office, after trying a couple other fans that I had to return due to the light being too dim.I like the fan, it looks nice and has good features through the app and remote. It was easy to pair to google assistant, and you can control the fan speed, direction and light through google assistant. Other fans only let you turn the fan on and off.The light was a bit brighter than others, however, all these fans seem to have a flaw that the ceiling is in a shadow, so the room feels dark. I would love for someone to come out with a nice looking surface mount fan with a bright light. I have been exploring other options to make this fan work with a brighter light. But the dome under the fan only lets light go down. I wish they made a better screw in dome to allow more light in all directions.One other issue I noticed, is they seemed to cut corners with the accessories. 3 of the screws to hold the fan blades to the fan were not cut right and did not go in all the way, causing some wiggle in the blades. A couple of the other screws were easy to strip, so we will have troubles taking the fan down when the time comes.We were looking for fans to replace all 8 in our house, but due to the brightness and shadows of the light on this one, we are still looking for a better solution.

Bad Instructions
These were the worst instructions I’ve seen for a ceiling fan. They mention parts bag A through E and reference them in the steps, but don’t bother to actually label the bags. There is one bag that contains screws for Canadian installations, but no notes on what to do if you’re in the USA. Kinda odd for a product that was “Engineered in America.” I just used the existing screws that held the plate on the junction box cover as they would hold the fan, but your really on your own. The wiring wasn’t to hard but I had to figure out what to do with the safety cable. Again required in Canada, but only for 35 lbs fans in the USA. This weighs a bit over 17lbs, so I just pulled the cable down through the fan and pushed it back up after mounting. Also when mounting there is a wire I used to hang the fan while connecting the power, but the wording wasn’t clear. If you zoom in on the picture you can see a small tab on the mounting plate you can use to hang it. I wired the controller before lifting the fan up and even though the picture seems to show the notched side facing down, facing up provided more clearance for the wires. I don’t know why they can’t make the controllers smaller. Everything else went together well, even the super cheap plastic light cover.The fan does a little stutter when starting, maybe after the break in period it will stop. Yes there is a documented break in time. The light mostly shines down, so don’t expect it to brighten every corner of the room. The light also went on/off like a strobe at one point but is behaving now.I did a hack with the remote mount and attached it over my rocker switch to prevent powering off the fan at the switch. (See pics)App installed and working too.I’d probably try a different brand in the future but it is installed and working for now.
