Amazing for Kids to Learn about Technology
This is not a toy, but that doesn’t mean it’s not fun! It’s a very sturdy machine with legit parts for a robot. I find the programming just as fun and addictive as my kid. The projects are fun, but we went through them quickly so I’ve had to make up more challenges to keep the interest going.A few notes: the software and documentation are not bulletproof. I’ve had to do a bit of debugging through the process that I don’t think a parent without prior experience with programming and basic knowledge of electronics would easily figure out. The makeblock forums are very helpful when you run into issues.Overall, everyone loves mBot and its been a great learning experience

Positive experience with room for improvement
Good kit. It allows creative experiments with the programming interface. However the assembly instructions need some work. They don’t always match the kit parts (different screwdriver). Also the battery pack unit could be designed for better integration.

Great STEM tool (toy)
This is not your usual kid toy. It’s designed to be tough and has capability that is only limited to the kid’s (and parent’s) imagination. My only complaint is that the programming ‘tools’ are not easily downloaded or explained. I’d also like the ‘programming’ to be progressive: start off with a graphics style for beginners and progress to a C++ for advanced learning.

Fun and educational
The media could not be loaded.
Im 35yrs old and this is one of the best toys I’ve purchased this year so far. It’s so easy to assemble and easy to follow. It took me about 20 minutes to assemble the entire unit and im on my third day working through the coding games which are very fun to do (I have no experience in coding). For those looking for a new challenge, or planning as a gift. This is the perfect toy for any age.

Fantastic for kids！
It is a absolutely fantastic toy for my 8 year son. He likes it so much. I especially loves that you can program in both scratch like GUI and actual coding.I worked on TI MSP430 a lot to control the motors and machines when I was in college. It is a fancy experience to see how the technology advanced during the past 20 years and my son can enjoy all of these when he is much younger than when I was.I 💬 everyone should be reminded to upgrade the firmware using USB cable before you try the Bluetooth dongle. It seems to me the dongle didn’t work until you have the latest firmware installed.

Ok for what it is but has some limitations
Bought for my 8 yr old and she liked it but does come with some difficulties. 1st do yourself a favor and also order the “Dongle” bluetooth USB module the cord is short and when testing your program very limited and have to sit on the floor. 2nd disappointed in the programming ability of the software. Can’t really us some of the sensors on the M-bot because the code for them is unavailable in block code. 3rd really needs to be run on hard flat surface as it doesn’t move or turn well on carpet. That said it’s a ok entry level bot to get started on programming something that works in real life for the money.

Perfect robot for a 10yr old.
Makeblock mBot Robot Kit Is a perfect robot for a 10 year old. My child was able to build the robot unassisted quickly. The directions are clear and simple to follow. The programming booklets and App are useful to aid in teaching kids simple coding. Parts are good quality, labeled nicely and package well with little waste. Price is a little high but there are lots of sales which help.I had a minor problem with a missing part which Ada from customer service went above and beyond to make it right.I highly recommend the Makeblock mBot Robot robot
